You are invited to kick off your summer at historic Honesdale’s Arts
& Antiques Weekend, June 2 & 3, from 10:00 am to 6:00 p.m. Saturday,
and noon to 5:00 p.m. Sunday, sponsored by The Dime Bank.
There will be antique dealers on Main St. and antique lovers should
make a point of visiting Oui Three Antiques, The Antique Emporium,
The Collectibles Junction, and Missing Pieces. Shoppers will enjoy
browsing through Honesdale’s fine gift and specialty shops including
Morning Glory Gifts and Morning Glory–The Cottage, Wallflower,
Country Dawn, lisa b., and Arts. Sticks. & Objects, all located on
Main Street, Glinsky’s Kitchen Capers, located on W. Park St., Good
Cheer, which can be found on Rte. 6. and The Kitchen Center, located
on Rte. 191 South offer a lot for every shopper. Craft lovers won’t
want to miss visiting The Crafter’s Village and The Kountry Barn! Or
maybe treat yourself to a visit at one of Honesdale’s many fine
salons and spas. Honesdale’s merchants, famous for their friendly,
knowledgeable and helpful service also offer a wide variety of other
products including fine clothing, electronics, appliances, sporting
goods and guided excursions. Honesdale’s restaurants and delis offer
great food and friendly service at reasonable prices, and many will
be offering Arts & Antiques Weekend specials.
Visitors to the greater Honesdale area will delight in the 2007
Wayne County Arts Alliance project, “Hour Town”. These unique,
beautifully decorated, 30” clocks will make their debut in
storefronts all over the greater Honesdale area and in Wayne County
on Friday, May 25. Additionally, visitors will be able to view
artwork of some of the Alliance members in many of Honesdale’s fine

The birthplace of the American railroad, Honesdale is proud to be
the home of the Wayne County Historical Society, where visitors can
see a full-scale replica of the famous Stourbridge Lion, the first
locomotive to run on a track in America, and enjoy viewing the many
interesting photographs from the past. Train buffs can also enjoy a
railroad exhibit, depicting the history of the D & H Canal Co. The
Historical Society Museum is open Wednesday – Saturday from 10AM to
4PM. Sunday, June 3, the museum hours are noon to 4PM. For more

Railroad buffs can also enjoy railroad exhibits at the Wayne County
Visitors Center, which features a wonderful and unique display
depicting the movement of coal on the old Gravity Railroad and
Delaware & Hudson Canal.
SATURDAY EVENTS – JUNE 2
On Saturday, June 2, visitors to Honesdale will be able to enjoy the
Wayne County Farmers’ Market, from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The
Farmers’ Market is located trackside in front of the Visitors
Center, just one block from Honesdale’s Main Street, and features
fresh, locally grown produce, flowers, plants, herbs, homemade baked
goods, handcrafted jewelry, and many more locally made items. There
is something for everyone at the Wayne County Farmers’ Market! For

Honesdale’s Old Stone Jail located along the banks of the Lackawaxen
River at the eastern end of 10th Street will be open on Saturday,
June 2 from 9:00 a.m. to Noon, with tours available. Additionally,
please visit the Honesdale Fire Museum, located at 1205 Main Street,
just over the bridge. Here you will see early fire prints,
photographs, helmets, speaking trumpets and other early fire
memorabilia. Hours are Saturday from Noon to 4:00 pm.
Enjoy watching “Top Hats & Lace,” the Senior Citizens Vintage
Dancers of NEPA; perform Victorian Ballroom dancing under the Fred
Miller Pavilion at 1:00 pm and again at 3:00 pm.
There will also be music for your enjoyment, provided by DJ Tom
Emanski, under the Fred Miller Pavilion on from Noon to 5:00 p.m.
Enjoy Blue Grass artist Bob Bijesse at Bean’s Roasting House & Café,
1139 Main Street, from Noon to 4:00 p.m. and again from 6:00 p.m. to
10:00 p.m.
SUNDAY EVENTS – JUNE 3
1:00 pm Sunday kicks off the 2nd Annual
Honesdale “Antiques on Wheels Parade”! Over 50 antique tractors,
cars, motorcycles and trucks will parade down Honesdale’s Main
Street for your enjoyment. Trophies will be awarded.
And get your antiques appraised at Honesdale’s own “Antique Road
Show”, which will be located at the corner of Main Street and Chapel
Street. Bring your valuables from 1 PM to 4:30 PM. and let Ms.
Darlene Moran tell you what they are worth. The charge is $5.00 per
item, limit two items per person, no jewelry please. For more

Music under the Pavilion in between activities, as well as Blue
Grass artist Bob BiJesse performing live at Bean’s Roasting House &
Café from Noon to 4:00 p.m.
There certainly will not be a lack of activity in Honesdale the
first weekend of June and everyone is invited to come and enjoy
music, antique dealers, art, fine gift shops and stores, railroad
exhibits, and great food at Honesdale’s “Arts & Antiques Weekend”.
Free parking is available in downtown Honesdale from Friday 3:00
p.m. through Sunday and additional free parking courtesy of Wayne
Memorial Hospital will be available in their lot on West 11th street
from 5:30 p.m. Friday through 7:00 p.m. Sunday.
